Brandon Naidoo – Teljoy

I am writing this letter in support of Mrs. Rosemary Finch, who over the past four or so years of my time at Teljoy Audio Visual, has made a significant impact in terms of both my own personal success and the success of the company.

Rosemary is a take-charge person who is able to present creative ideas and communicate the benefits. She has successfully developed several marketing plans for our company that has resulted in increased revenue.

Though Rosemary was an asset to the company, she was also extraordinarily helpful in other areas of the company. Rosemary showed without a doubt a leadership role in all meetings, inspiring and motivating other employees. She would be an asset to any employer and I recommend her for any endeavor she chooses to pursue.

Rosemary will be dearly missed at Teljoy Audio Visual.

Tessa Kassel – Tessa Kassel Consulting

I work as a Human Capital Consultant. I have known and worked with Rosemary in a professional capacity since 2000.

I worked with Rosemary at DHL when she was Sales Manager. I was in the credit control department. We worked closely together as I approved credit applications for the sales team. Rosemary’s conflict resolution and mediation skills were often needed when I declined credit applications for prospective customers. Rosemary would make commitments to guarantee prospective customers would adhere to the terms of DHL’s credit and collection policy. I can, with authority; state I never experienced a “problem debtor” where Rosemary was involved.

At DHL, Rosemary instilled a culture of “cross pollination” between various departments. She urged her sales team to become involved in assisting credit control, customer services and operations. In turn the departments mentioned would “feed of each other” to ensure sterling service. I learnt that it is more effective to work in collaboration with others as opposed to isolating departments and job descriptions.

In 2006, I became a consultant to Teljoy Business Systems (Teljoy Audio Visual).

We were to roll out an extensive ABET (Adult Basic Education and Training) program. Rosemary, at the time was National Sales and Marketing Manager. She was not by virtue of her position meant to be involved in the roll-out of the project; Human Resources were meant to drive the program. Rosemary however became actively involved in ensuring the program succeeded as there was management and student commitment and participation. The program succeeded because Rosemary drove the project. Many employees’ lives were enriched as a result of their successful passing of their exams and subsequent qualifications being awarded to them. There are lovely success stories where some students’ English language and Numeracy skills levels were close to functionally illiterate. The ABET program empowered and enhanced the students’ lives.

During the years of 2006 to 2012 I worked with Rosemary on various projects from mentorship, facilitation, coaching and labour relations issues. It was always a pleasure to spend time watching Rosemary’s operational, leadership and customer service skills in action. I learnt so much from observing Rosemary. My business acumen and productivity grew exponentially the more time I spent with Rosemary.

Rosemary is adept in the following skills areas:

  • Communication
  • Leadership
  • Knowledge of the industry, products and operations
  • Mentorship
  • Employee development
  • Recognition and constructive feedback
  • Human capital management and discipline
  • Talent retention and acquisition

There is sadly not enough space to list Rosemary’s accomplishments, skills and proficiencies.

Teljoy Audio Visual will struggle to fill the massive void left after Rosemary leaves the company. I will be sad to see her leave us. I have become very fond of Rosemary and will miss the connection she has forged between us.

I wish Rosemary all of the best for her new venture.

Sharon Jansen – Executive Coach

I worked with Rosemary as her Executive Coach during 2012. The engagement was designed to support her transition into the role of CEO at Teljoy.

Rosemary was open to learning about herself and her impact on others and actively encouraged colleagues and team members to be a part of the feedback process. Rosemary embraced the feedback and with the increased awareness she was fully enrolled in her personal development and continues to be curious about her own possibilities as a leader of people.

I have enjoyed working with Rosemary and welcomed her no nonsense approach complemented with her deep caring about the people around her.

Theo Rutstein – Executive Chairman, Teljoy Group

This confirms that Rosemary Finch has been employed by Teljoy since 2002.  She was initially employed in the capacity of Sales Manager in Teljoy Business Systems, which at that stage dealt with the distribution of TV systems predominantly to the hospitality industry.  She performed excellently in that business, building strong relationships with the major hotel groups and oversaw significant growth in the business.

Her entrepreneurial flair and driving ambition persuaded us that she was ready for a more significant role in the business and we followed her guidance in building a new division specialising in audio visual with the accent on video conferencing.  This was perceived to be a step on the ladder of building a convergence business.

Rosemary was appointed Operations Manager, and subsequently Director, of the enlarged business, which entailed oversight of sales, operations and technical service.

At the beginning of 2012 she was appointed Chief Executive Officer of that business.

To assist Rosemary in upgrading her skills to take over as CEO, our organisation provided her with a mentor through whose guidance she has developed greater management skills.

Rosemary is exceptionally hard working, she is renowned within our overall organisation for being available almost 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  She takes her work very seriously and feels responsible to bring the best out of those whom she leads.

Rosemary has chosen to leave our organisation, and we are very sad to have to accept her resignation.

We have no doubt that she will be successful in any career she chooses as she has the passion and intelligence to succeed.

I would be happy to answer any further queries or provide a verbal reference on request.

Robert Katzen – CEO, Teljoy Group

I have worked with Rosemary since I joined the Teljoy Group in November 2011, during which time she reported to me in her roles as Chief Operating Officer and then Chief Executive Officer of Teljoy Audio Visual, a subsidiary of the Teljoy Group.

Rosemary is an extremely dedicated and driven individual with an immense work ethic. She has managed the organisation capably through an extremely difficult period of performance recovery and restructuring.

Rosemary is an action focussed individual and believes in providing all necessary support to her team. She has built up a strong loyalty among the staff and will not be easy to replace.

Dirk Schreuder – Sales Director, Imago

I have known and had the pleasure and privilege of working with Rosemary Finch since 2004. My dealings with Rosemary include liaising with her regularly in her capacity as Chief Executive Officer of Teljoy Business Systems.

During this period, I witnessed Rosemary build a hugely successful business, attain record-setting industry achievements, and develop a very effective Sales and Service Organization. Rosemary remains highly focused while continuing to lead the organization through an unprecedented period of successful growth, all the while creating many successful internal programs and fine-tuning the operational structures at Teljoy Business Systems. Over time, Rosemary’s dedication and tenacity have resulted in numerous triumphs, including a tripling of the company’s topline revenues accompanied by a commensurate increase in net profits.

As a strategic thinker with a keen ability for tactical execution, Rosemary’s inspiring leadership, creative thinking, positive attitude, deliberate planning, and results oriented focus make her an outstanding executive leader. Rosemary has an innate ability to motivate people through personal engagement and professional empowerment, thus allowing individuals to achieve their maximum potential under her intentional and attentive guidance.

Regardless of the title you choose to apply to Rosemary – accomplished sales person, farsighted product visionary, loyal customer advocate, eloquent corporate spokesperson, gifted leader, trustworthy friend, selfless mentor, etc. – she is an extraordinary individual and she takes each role very seriously, excelling at all she endeavors to accomplish.

Rosemary combines an extremely high work ethic with extraordinary business acumen, resulting in an irreplaceable asset for our industry. I heartily endorse Rosemary personally and professionally without any reservations or exceptions.

A.E Botha – Managing Director, Kopanong Hotel and Conference Center

It gives me great pleasure to advise that we have known Rosemary Finch in various business capacities since the 90’s and during that time we have found her to be an absolute professional, in the true sense of the word, towards her entire work ethic and approach.

Rosemary’s management style has always been impeccable, no matter what situation arose and we have no doubt that she and her colleagues, both from what we have seen and heard, enjoyed enormous mutual consideration, respect and unconditional support.

Her willingness to discuss or debate any problem that might arise was always dealt with in a speedy and efficient manner and, couple with her people skills, makes her an attribute to any company and position that she may deem suitable.

We can only reiterate that over the years we have been extremely satisfied with Rosemary and we are sure that whatever direction her life takes her, happiness, success and respect on whatever path she may cross, will surely follow.

Kelly Pearce – Pearce’s Gifts ‘n Gadgets

I have been affiliated with Rosemary Finch for around 15 years. In this time I have had business dealings with her in various forms, starting with being managed by her at DHL International, where she was the Randburg Branch Manager.

I found Rosie to be a tremendous mentor and leader. She lead by example, was and still is the hardest working person I know, working all hours of the day and night, Monday through Sunday.  She demonstrates unfailing passion to perform regardless of the role she’s in, is goal oriented and hugely self driven.

I have always greatly admired Rosie’s incredible mind for business, her negotiating skills, Account retention skills, fearless leadership qualities and ability to manage people into super performance.

She has outstanding problem solving ability, as she’s able to see an issue with utmost objectivity. She’s direct and ruthlessly honest, takes no nonsense, expects only the best from the teams that she leads and people who under perform tend to get out of her space very quickly.

Rosie moved from being my manager to being a client of mine many years later when she worked at Teljoy and gave my business the opportunity to provide corporate gifts from time to time when required.

Once again, I have enjoyed her unfailing professionalism and I consider myself fortunate to have learned from such a business woman.

Karen Volschenk – Geutebruck

I was employed by Rosie at DHL in October 1997 as a Field Sales Executive.   I previously worked for a hairdressing company as a Sales Executive.  I was exposed to the corporate environment for the first time when I joined DHL.  I had no formal training, no computer knowledge and I had never entered a board room until that time.

For three years, Rosie was my manager, but more so my mentor.

Whether I watched her conduct a meeting, handle irate customers, or read her correspondence to customers, during my first year working for Rosie I learnt more than I could in any business school.

She expected a lot from her staff but also gave a lot.  We worked long hours and achieved beyond expectation.  She never expected us to do anything she herself was not prepared to do.  There was a healthy competitiveness amongst the staff which pushed us to achieve our targets and somehow we cemented relationships which turned into friendships that remain to this day.

As much as Rosie would support and praise good work, she did not tolerate inferior work standards and staff who were lazy.  Work had to be done right, on time and targets had to be achieved.

The time came that I raised my dreams and expectations with Rosie to move into a more senior role within DHL.  Once again Rosie gave me all the support I needed, she sent me on the necessary training programs, coached me and supported me until such time that I was appointed as the National Sales Trainer for DHL.

I still look back at the time that I reported to Rosie with fondness, she has a great sense of humor which is needed when the going gets tough.  I will always be grateful to her for what she taught me.

Marc Atkinson – Divisional Head, Teljoy Business System

This letter serves to confirm that I have had the privilege of working alongside Rosemary Finch at Teljoy Business Systems (Pty) Ltd for the past  7 years in her capacity as GM, COO and finally (well deservedly) as CEO.

During this time Rosie has excelled through her unparalleled work ethic, her unmatched operational coordination ability, her presence when around customers, her strategic impact, her well-honed management skills and her sheer drive to succeed. The company has grown to rely on her ability to manage an unprecedented amount of workflow across the various pillars, so much so that her notice period has been extended to 6 months upon the request of our directors.

In my time at Teljoy I have yet to meet a more committed or hard working individual with more impact in the working environment. Everything that Rosie has achieved has been through hard work and dedication that I fear will be missed when she does leave one day.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Rosie’s presence within any company on a permanent or contractual engagement. This sentiment is validated by her quick rise through the ranks at both DHL and Teljoy and the various testimonials you will receive on her behalf.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries.
